Happy Birthday, Aislynn!!!

So, my 39 week doctors appointment was suppose to be August 27th, 2009 but we didn't make it to that day.

On Saturday August 22, 2009 I woke up at 4:00 am with some contractions that were regular but not very strong. I went to sleep and woke up with the chills, fever, and body aches. My mom told me that I needed to go to the Emergency Room. We went to the ER and they sent me straight to Labor and Delivery. The nurses monitored the baby and contractions for about 2 hours then sent me home. The doctor on call didn't even come and see me and no one even paid attention to me being sick which was the only reason I went to the hospital. We left the hospital around noon. At around 1:00pm my parents called and stated that my dad's biological dad, Paul Lanham wasn't doing very well. He had been in the hospital this month for Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He passed away that day.

On Tuesday August 25, 2009 we went to the funeral and burial of my grandfather Paul Lanham. After the service, my family went out to eat at Rafferty's. It was Andy, Danielle, Derek, Inge, Mike, Rita, my dad, my mom, and Chantel. I had went to the restroom with Danielle and had come back to the table. I began coughing and felt a little rush of liquid and though I had just had a little accident so I waited. Then the waitress was bringing out the food and I shifted in my seat and felt a gush of fluid. I knew at that moment that my water had broke. I told my cousin Danielle that I needed to go back to the bathroom. She looked at me funny and asked why and then started yelling. Your Water Broke Didn't It! So everyone at the table was saying, your water broke? The poor waitress didn't know what to do. I went to the bathroom and sure enough my water had broke. I went to try to finish eating but I was way to nervous. My dad scarfed down his plate and kept asking me if I was alright. I was told that Andy ate his catfish while it was steaming hot. We then went to the hospital at around 2pm and was admitted. The nurse was very rude. I think her name was Kristi but not for sure. I had her until 7pm. She started me on Potocin to get me to dilate. She told me that I would be able to get pain medication until the epidural. After a couple of hours of labor, which I should add was so painful. I was in so much pain that I was throwing up with every contraction. My contractions were so fast that I couldn't breathe between each one. I asked the rude nurse for some pain medication and she said well, we have to wait and see how you are doing. No one said labor wasn't painful. If I wasn't in so much pain I would have told her off but I didn't have the energy or the time between contractions. Finally she gave me some morphine but I don't even know if she really gave it to me cause I was still in pain. It didn't take the edge off of anything! A little after 7 the new nurse came in and her name was Sandy. She was a GREAT! She talked me through everything and helped me get an epidural and was just amazing. I will forever be grateful for her. I finally got my epidural and everything was great! I pushed for 19 minutes and Aislynn was born. Dr. Nethers was great and I am so happy he was my doctor. Aislynn was born at 11:29pm on August 25th, 2009 She weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. Here is her hospital baby picture!

37 Week Check Up

I went to the doctor today for my 37 week check up. Dr. Nethers checked me and said that I am 90% effaced already and then he checked to see if I was dialated and unfortunately I wasn't which was very painful. He then told me that I will probably have spotted bleeding because since I wasn't dialated he loosened the mucus plug. So I go back August 20th, 2009 for my 38 week check up. I am still working which is becoming a struggle. I was hoping to work until I delivered but I am thinking about making next week my last week. I am just going to see how I feel. It is getting difficult to drive, sleep, and walk. I will keep everyone updated. Oh and my blood pressure was great and she was moving around like crazy and the Dr. had a hard time getting her heartbeat, but he did.

36 Weeks

Andy and I went to our 36 week checkup on August 4th, 2009. We had an ultrasound to see how Aislynn was positioned and about how much she weighed and measured. She is head down which is a good thing and she has hair! She weighs about 6 lbs 8 oz. She is measuring 2 days ahead of schedule. I will upload some pictures this weekend of the ultrasound. I must say she is camera shy and loves having her hands in front of her face. I then had an appointment with Dr. Nethers for my first exam. I was nervous but it wasn't bad. I had the strep tests and he checked my cervix. I am already 75% effaced. He said that everything was looking great and that my labor was progressing great. He said that he was proud of me since I have only gained 20 lbs throughout the whole pregnancy! I am proud of myself! I go to the hospital if 1. my water breaks 2. I start bleeding heavily 3. I have contractions every 5 minutes for over an hour 4. mothers' intuition

I go back next week! She is almost here. I am so excited. I think I am starting to get nervous about this labor business. lol.

34 Week Checkup

Andy and I went to our 34 week check up Friday. I have been feeling a lot of pressure down low and my pelvic bone feels so sore along with my hips being sore. It is getting hard to walk. I know I still have a little whiles to go. Well, the doctor said that she is moving down into the birth canal and getting into ready position. I gained 3 lbs this visit which is exactly what they they wanted me to gain. So I have gained a total of 15 lbs so far. My belly is measuring larger but then again, my belly was a little larger than most women. I go back in a week and 1/2 which will be my 36 week checkup. Yay 36 weeks. I get another ultrasound to see how Aislynn is positioned and an estimate on how much she weighs. Doc said that the weight isn't very accurate the it can be off about 20% but it will give him an estimation. He also is checking on her development so far. Then he is going to do a pelvic exam to check my cervix and the strep screening. After that I go every week until our little girl is here! I am so excited. Just seems so unreal that I have been carrying this little girl for 34 weeks. And I can feel her move so much more now, I guess because she is getting cramped up in there. Also, I have been having Braxton Hicks contractions for the past couple of days. They aren't terrible just some tightning and pulling towards my pelvic bone. He said that is normal and that I am just practicing for the real thing. I was joking (kinda) with the doctor about being ready and he was like, ready for the weekend, I told him no, ready to not be pregnant. He laughed and joked of course but then wanted to show me two pictures on why it is good to wait until the 40th week of pregnancy to deliver. I just thought I would share them with you.

So, as much as I want to see her little face. I guess I can wait until she is ready. Will keep you updated after my next appointment on August 4th~

32 week Check Up

Andy and I went in for our 32 week check up. Everything was fine. I had gained 4 lbs since last time which he wasn't concerned. I am really excited but nervous too. I guess the whole thought of giving birth is kinda overwhelming but I know there is no stopping it now. LOL! I think we are ready for her to be here. Just waiting on her to be fully developed and if she decided to come early I don't mind as long as she is healthy! I can't wait to see who she looks like and her personality. I guess I am over being pregnant. My hips hurt terribly and it is getting harder and harder to sleep. Not to mention I am getting more cases at work and sometimes it seems overwhelming working full time, and being pregnant. But the good side is that work seems to be passing the time more quickly. Keeps my mind off of baby things. I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks.

Baby Shower, Doctor Visit. I will be 31 weeks tomorrow!!!

I went to the OBGYN on Monday June 15th, 2009 for my Glucose Tolerance Test and my 29 week check up. My glucose test was fine so no more fruit punch stuff. I was so looking forward to the orange drink but they got rid of it. I'm serious. I really like the orange stuff! Well, the doctor said everything looked fine and he found the heartbeat after a little searching since she was moving all around. So I will be 31 weeks tomorrow and I am so excited. I cannot wait for our little girl to get here. My mother-in-law is having a baby pot for anyone who wants to guess what date and time Aislynn will be born. $1 for every guess. Everyone is saying September which puts me overdue! I really hope she isn't overdue. I am already miserable. I can't sleep, my lower belly hurts, my shoulders hurt, and I guess I am a little stressed with going full-time at work and having a baby on the way. Also, my breast are already producing colostrum. I am really excited that work is allowing me to take 12 weeks off of work after the baby is born. I can't wait to see who she looks like! So excited! I go back to the doctor July 7th, 2009. Also, there has been a little issue with my OBGYN. There is a complaint against him from a former patient about a sexual relationship that lasted for two years. She is just now filing a complaint which the medical board put my OBGYN on restrictions. I have never felt uncomfortable around him. He has always been professional and a reputation for being a great doctor. He has to have a female chaperone with him at all times, even at the hospital. So I am relieved that he can still go to the hospital. I would really hate to have to find another doctor in my 8th month of pregnancy!!!! Will keep you all updated!!!

So, my baby shower was June 14th, 2009 and I couldn't have asked for more! It was so nice and so many people attended. I got so much good stuff! I was really excited! I only need a couple of little things and one big thing. So, here are some pictures from the baby shower!

BABY SHOWER

All I can say is that Andy and I are so grateful! Our Baby Shower was wonderful! We had 68 people attend and that isn't including children! We got lots of goodies and couldn't have asked for a better turnout! Thank you all so much for everything! And the good thing is that we only have to return a couple of items. Well, I get my glucose test tomorrow and see the doctor for my 29 week check-up. Will keep you updated~~~

25 Week Check-Up

Andy and I went to Dr. Nethers Thursday May 21st, 2009 for our 25 week checkup. They checked my iron which was great at 13. My blood pressure was great too! I have gained a total of 6 lbs all together, which he said he wasn't worried about my weight gain but to just be careful. Aislynn was moving so much he was having trouble finding the heartbeat but he found it. Dr. Nethers gets so excited when he hears the heartbeat. I asked him some questions about my cramping and he said it is just the round ligaments stretching. I go back on June 15th, 2009 and see Dr. Nethers and also get my glucose test done. I just have to watch my sugars, exercise, and drink lots of water!

Baby Shower Details

My mom and mother in law and sister are having a baby shower for me on June 14th at 3:00 pm at Pritchard Community Center. There will be two $25 gift card drawings. One if you bring in diapers and another if you bring in diaper wipes. If you bring in both, you get entered into both drawings. It doesn't bother me what kind of diapers except I was hoping for the sensitive kind of diapers and wipes since I am having a little girl who has parents with very fair skin. I am registered at Babies R Us, Walmart, and Target. I just ask that you RSVP to one of the following...

Little Aislynn is doing very well! And so is mommy. :) Andy got me a PUR water filtration system for Mother's day. It even has the flavor options. The raspberry is actually good.

22 Week Check Up

Andy and I went for our 22 week check up! Dr. Nethers had an emergency at the hospital so we saw the nurse practicioner. I was told I gained 10 lbs but I really think I have only gained 5 but you know how that goes. I did have some edema so I have to drink more water and watch my sodium intake. I also had some sugar in my urine so they checked my blood sugar. My blood sugar was 86 so that was in normal range. I am just going to watch my sugar and carbs. Well, her little heart was beating just fine but you could hear her kicking and moving away from the doppler. So she is moving despite me not being able to feel her. I have had some aches and pains but nothing too severe. My uterus is still at a -1 which means it is one inch below my belly button. My stomach has really started to poke out. I actually look pregnant. I found out that Dr. Nethers was worried about the baby's growth. He thought she was on the small side but according to the ultrasound, she is right on target. The ultrasound results didn't show any abnormalities. So I go back in 3 weeks and just have to watch my sodium and sugar. And I have forward to my belly growing and stretching and hopefully feeling our little girl move. Her name is Aislynn Joleigh Burnett.

Her name is pronounced "Eyez Lin" "Jo Lee"

19 weeks

Andy and I went to our follow up today. I was told that I need to drink more water and try to stay hydrated. I guess that would be easy if I wasn't getting sick all the time. We heard the baby's heartbeat. It was in the 140's. I find out the sex of the baby on April 14th, 2009. I am so excited! I invited my mom and mother in law to come with Andy and me to the ultrasound. I will keep you updated!

We're Expecting

I'm Pregnant! Andy and I found out on December 20th, 2008. Here is the picture to prove it!!! I didn't keep the pregnancy test, I just took a picture.

My pregnancy has been everything but easy. I have been so sick. The morning sickness "all day sickness" is terrible. All the mothers who didn't experience sickness are very very lucky. I have lost a total of 14 lbs. I have went down a whole pants size!

On January 13th, 2009 Andy and I went to the doctor for our first prenatal check up! We are seeing Dr. Michael Nethers. We only saw the nurse and the ultrasound technician. We had lots of bloodwork. We got our first ultrasound to see how far along my pregnancy was. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and haven't had a normal menstrual cycle in over 3 years. The ultrasound put me at 7 weeks and 2 days. The heartrate was 143. Here is the baby's first picture.

I went back to see Dr. Nethers on Febuary 5th, 2009. All of my labwork was normal and we just chatted about medical history and family medical history. He then decided he wanted to see the baby for himself and did another ultrasound. It is kinda blurry since it was only at 10 weeks.

My went for my next appointment on March 5th, 2009. I was 14 weeks. I was still having severe morning sickness and lost weight. Dr. Nethers listened to the heartrate and said everything sounded great and that he would see me in 4 weeks.
